It was a perfect day for some hot soup yesterday and throngs of people toured Belleville’s Downtown District enjoying the best soups the downtown restaurants could create in the annual Savour the Chill event.
A panel of judges had a tough job choosing the top three but in the end decided that in third place was an East Coast Corn Chowder from The Lark, in second was a Blended Roast Carrot and Ginger creation from Paulo’s and Dinkel’s, and their top choice was a Tarragon and English Pea soup served with fried basil from Capers.
The People’s Choice award is to be announced Monday.
