Belleville’s premier cheerleading team, Pegasus Cheer, competed at the Big East Blast and Big East Showdown in Ottawa last weekend in their first competition of the season.
The Under 12 “Nova” Prep Level team finished in fourth place while the “Eclipse” U12 Allstar Elite Level One team earned an outstanding performance.
Coach Melissa Ouellet says, “Watching our athletes work so hard on their routine and then put everything they had on the mats at the competition is a hard feeling to describe. You feel pride, nervousness, happiness, and excitement for them all at once. Seeing our athletes support their teammates and other teams in their category before, during, and after awards, shows the impact youth sports has on building leadership skills in young people’s lives.”
Pegasus Cheer Athletics is a high value athletic program in Quinte for young athletes up to age 18 and higher.
