Council members in Tweed rescinded a resolution on power boat races on Stoco Lake in June.
Council had received a complaint about the noise levels of the power boats and how it was affecting business for a resort in the area.
Tweed Mayor Don DeGenova says they would allow the following changes to power boats races in June.
“We said we want it to only be from 10 to 4 and that we would not allow camping in Victoria Park because it’s not zoned for camping. We also wanted them to move the event two weeks ahead so it doesn’t interfere with muskie fishing season starting,” DeGenova tells Quinte News,
He explained how the power boats would affect muskie fishing season.
“When they’re there, they are using the the main dock area and nobody’s coming in and out of the water and they would use it for the whole weekend,” DeGenova said.
