A Prince Edward County man has been sentenced to a nine month conditional sentence plus one year of probation after pleading guilty to a charge of mischief endangering life.
In late 2018 Thomas McDowell of Ameliasburgh was charged with administering a noxious substance with intent to cause harm after a female reported being drugged without her consent. He was 64 at that time.
Then early in 2019 a second woman claimed she’d been drugged and sexually assaulted and Prince Edward County OPP laid a sexual assault charge against McDowell.
Last month, on September 12, McDowell pleaded guilty to the mischief charge and all other charges were withdrawn.
A conditional sentence means the person involved serves the time in the community but under strict conditions.
