An investigation is underway into an apartment building fire early Thursday in Belleville.
Firefighters were called out around 4:15 in the morning when flames were seen at the two-storey building on Railway Terrace, which happens to be right across from the Belleville Fire Department’s Bettes Street headquarters.
All of the building’s residents had evacuated.
While flames were doused quickly, firefighters continued to deal with hot spots on the second level and the fire was deemed under control shortly after 6 o’clock.
The building is being ventilated.
