Members of the Prince Edward County OPP were on patrol on Thursday, March 24 shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Loyalist Parkway when a traffic stop was conducted. An approved screening device was administered and as a result, a 65-year-old driver from Stirling had their licence suspended for three days.
Approximately 10 minutes later, officers were on patrol on County Road 4 when they observed a vehicle weaving between lanes and a traffic stop was conducted. As a result, an approved screening device was administered and the driver was arrested and taken to detachment for further testing. Marcus Bailey, age 42 f rom Prince Edward County, was charged with the following criminal offences:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on April 13, 2022. He had his licence suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
On Friday April 1 shortly before 10:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Loyalist Parkway in Picton on a vehicle that was weaving into oncoming traffic. An approved screening device was administered and as a result, a 24-year-old from Madawaska Valley Township had their licence suspended for three days.
