Local COVID numbers have decreased again.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reported the number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19 dropped to seven today with no one in the intensive care unit.
That’s down from 14 in hospital and two in the ICU on Wednesday.
There have been no COVID related deaths since the last report.
Today’s public health dashboard shows 31 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
There are 86 new high-risk cases and 331 active cases.
Fourteen outbreaks in high-risk settings remain ongoing.
Eighty-eight percent of HPE residents five and older have received one dose of a COVID vaccine with 81% having received two doses and 51% a third dose booster.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported 17 new high-risk cases on Friday along with 68 active.
