The Fire Chief for the City of Quinte West says if you see smoke “help us out and stay away”.
John Whalen made the comments following a very difficult fire near Frankford Wednesday morning.
Crews were called to 93 Prior Lane, just south of Frankford, around 9:40 a.m.
When crews arrived, flames were visible.
Whalen says they ran into trouble with a number of onlookers driving down the small road (just off Glen Ross Road) to look at the scene.
He says it delayed getting some of their vehicles to the scene, and they actually had to push one vehicle out of the way that got stuck.

Whalen says crews did a good job keeping flames to just the one cottage.
The cause is still under investigation, the damage estimate is around $400,000.
Meantime a fire truck responding to the scene flipped.
Whalen says no injuries were reported.
