Members of 424 squadron out of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton (JRCC Trenton) were involved in an overnight search and rescue mission.
At around 10 p.m. JRCC Trenton Twitter warned of an active search and rescue mission near Oakville, indicating that residents may see flares lighting the sky while they searched.
According to Tom Poldec Aviation on Twitter, the search was for a possible missing person on Lake Ontario and that it involved an RCAF C130 Hercules, Coast Guard, a helicopter, police and civilians.
An unmanned boat was reported to be found around an hour later and there have been no further updates.
