Quinte Health Care’s President and Chief of Staff are preparing to provide an update on QHC’s ongoing response to the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
QHC President and CEO Stacey Daub and Chief of Staff Dr. Colin MacPherson will speak to media virtually on Tuesday afternoon.
There are currently 17 people with COVID-19 being treated by Quinte Health Care though not all are necessarily from the area as QHC has been accepting patients from other areas.
Eight of the current patients are in the ICU and four are on a ventilator.
QHC has also ramped down all elective surgeries and non-emergent procedures as directed by the provincial government.
A press release issued last week stated, “Quinte Health Care has been accelerating its planning and preparations for the unprecedented pressures that Ontario and its hospitals will face in the months ahead.”
