Prince Edward County is one of 14 Ontario municipalities which will receive provincial funding for road repairs.
The County is receiving $266,848 through the Connecting Links Program to help fund improvements at the intersection of Picton Main Street and Bridge Street, also known as Picton Town Hill.
The project will include the replacement of two retaining walls which currently obstruct proper lines of sight for both vehicles and pedestrians at the intersection.
There will also be updated signage, traffic control infrastructure, pedestrian crossings and line painting.
Mayor Steve Ferguson says a County delegation met with Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney at the AMO conference in 2020 to discuss concerns with the intersection.
The Connecting Links Program is investing $30 million to repair roads and bridges across the province.
