As federal politicians gear up for a potential spring or summer election, the local New Democratic Party has tapped a repeat candidate to run, once an election is called.
The Bay of Quinte NDP has unanimously selected Stephanie Bell as its candidate again, saying the Prince Edward County native represented the party “extremely well” when she ran in 2019.
The party says Bell brings experience and knowledge on local issues like affordable housing, the need for improvements in long term care, public transportation and sustainable jobs, and the environmental issues facing the region and the country.
Bell finished third in the 2019 federal election with 9, 851 votes, or 16% of the ballots cast.
