(Angus Crookshank scores his first professional goal)
The Belleville Senators went into the third period of last night’s game in Winnipeg with a 5-4 lead. They came out of it with an 8-5 loss.
For the second straight game the Manitoba Moose overwhelmed the B-Sens in the third period outshooting them 18-3 while scoring four unanswered goals. The final shots were 49-25 Moose.
Over the last two games the Moose have outshot the Senators 35-4 although Belleville still pulled out the win Wednesday night.
Rookie Egor Sokolov scored twice to raise his season total to 9. Angus Crookshank had a goal and assist. It was Crookshank’s first pro goal in just his third game. On the post game ZOOM conference, Crookshank described his first pro goal.
Crookshank recently signed an entry level contract with Ottawa after three years at the University of New Hampshire.
Matthew Peca and Joseph LaBate rounded out the B-Sens scoring while Vitaly Abramov added three assists. Kevin Mandolese made his fifth professional start in goal for the Sens.
Skyler McKenzie led the Moose with two goals.
Belleville coach Troy Mann says his team didn’t play the right way when they had the lead.
Belleville and Manitoba meet again tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon in Winnipeg.
