The Manitoba Moose outshot the Belleville Senators 37-16 including 17-1 in the third period but the visiting Sens came away with a 3-2 victory.
Ironically Vitaly Abramov scored on Belleville’s only shot on Mikhail Berdin in the third period which turned out be the winning goal.
B-Sens goaltender Filip Gustavsson who recently picked up his first NHL win with the Ottawa Senators was the difference in this game.
Parker Kelly and Joseph LaBate also scored for the Senators who improve to 7-10 and move 6 points behind the fourth place Moose. Belleville has four games in hand.
Westin Michaud and Peter Krieger responded for the Moose (8-11-2), who are on a four-game slide.
This was the first of four straight between the Canadian Division rivals. They play again tonight in the Manitoba capital.
