Two lifters from the Victory Barbell Club in Belleville earned silver medals at the Canadian Junior Weightlifting championships which were held online over the weekend.
Eighteen-year-old Connor Bazilsky competed in his fifth consecutive championship winning a silver medal after snatching 85 kilograms (187 pounds) with a clean and jerk of 115 kg (253 lbs).
While competing in his first Canadian Juniors, 16-year-old Alexander Clazie also won a silver in the men’s 109 kg class. Clazie had a total lift of 180 kilograms or 396 pounds.
Thirteen-year-old Ethan Yuke competed in the nationals for the first time. Ethan had a total lift of 135 kilograms which was a personal best of 25 kgs.
