Lennox and Addington OPP seized weapons and a large amount of cash in a traffic stop Wednesday.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., police stopped a vehicle with a heavily tinted driver’s side window east of the Napanee exit on the 401 east.
After investigating, officers seized bear spray, a taser, a passport and approximately $39,000 in Canadian cash.
Police arrested 30-year-old Jean Gardy Laine of Toronto and charged them with:
- Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by crime
- Three counts of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous purpose
- Possession of a prohibited device
- Possession of an identity document
Laine was released with a court date of May 18 in Greater Napanee.
