Two people are facing multiple drug trafficking charges after OPP executed a search warrant at a home in Alnwick-Haldimand Township this week, that netted various illicit items with a street value of close to $114,000.
A Hyundai sedan registered to an Oshawa resident was also pulled over as part of the investigation, which involved officers from across the Northumberland and Peterborough areas and was focused on a drug trafficking ring between the GTA and Northumberland.
During the busts, police seized suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, fentantyl, crystal meth, various opioids, a prohibited weapon and close to $20,000 in cash.
Thirty-four-year-old Kyle Innocent of Scarborough and 24-year-old Cassidy Robinson of Port Hope are facing multiple counts of drug trafficking charges and other offences including:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance f or the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (two counts)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Unauthorized possession of weapon
- Fail to comply with release order
Innocent was also charged:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
- Fail to comply with release order
- Resist peace officer
Both were set to appear for bail in Cobourg Court on Friday.
