One of the busiest retail shopping weekends has passed.
Quinte News spoke to multiple businesses located in the Quinte Mall to see how their Black Friday sales went.
The overwhelming response was that business is down compared to previous years, but people don’t seem to be avoiding shopping in person entirely.
One retailer said they are doing their best to still make this holiday season feel festive despite the pandemic.
Another retailer said their sales were down 20 to 30 per cent but that is expected given the current circumstances.
The Quinte Mall has extended their shopping hours for the holiday season and are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
