A domestic assault at a North Front Street restaurant drew police attention Satuday evening.
Around 6 p.m., police were called and when they arrived, the suspect and the victim had already left separately. Officers were able to find the victim a short distance away.
Approximately an hour after the initial call officers found the man hiding in the backyard of a residence in the Lingham Street area.
The 20-year-old Belleville man was arrested and faces charges of assault, two counts of uttering death threats and mischief under $5,000.
The man is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
