The County of Prince Edward and The County Foundation are awarding 33 community groups with some funding through the Municipal COVID-19 Recovery Grant Program.
The one-time grant will come from $68,000 of unused money out of The County’s community grant program and about $6,000 from the foundation.
In a release, Mayor Steve Ferguson says “these groups are at the heart of our community” and have felt undue hardship from the pandemic, which has hurt their fundraising opportunities and he hopes the money will help them to “weather the storm so they can continue to serve and enrich our community”.
