For the first time in 30 years Belleville’s council chambers will get a new look.
A $300,000 new look.
The idea is to create better seating and technology for councillors and the public.
The COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the project by months.
Director of Engineering and Development Stephen Ashton explains to Quinte News what it involves.
He says, “There will be more screens and the recording devices will be better. The room will be differently laid out.”
The project is expected to go to tender this summer and take about eight weeks to complete this fall.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk indicates council will meet in alternative locations during that time.
