The City of Quinte West is preparing for possible spring flooding and recommending residents and property owners do the same.
City staff have identified residences and businesses that may be at risk of experiencing some degree of flooding this spring, as water levels on Lake Ontario are high for this time of year and even average spring precipitation could be enough to cause shoreline flooding.
In the next few weeks, property owners identified at risk will receive a letter from the city letting them know about the risk and linking them to resources.
Mayor Jim Harrison says they are doing everything they can to prepare and they want to provide residents with the resources they need to protect their homes and businesses.
The city has created a new section on their website with flooding information, resources and more. A link to that can be found here.
