The Wellington Dukes were badly outshot 44-21 by the Toronto Patriots but you wouldn’t know it by the score.
Frank Vitucci scored twice and Matthew Dunsmoor turned away 41 shots as Wellington prevails 7-3 and moves into first place in the OJHL East.
Vitucci has scored 35 goals in 50 games and leads the Dukes with 64 points.
Jake Gagnon had four assists and is second in scoring with 63 points.
Dylan Massie added a goal with two assists. Noah Massie, Jacob Breckles, Evan Miller and Quinn Hanna added singles.
The Dukes move one point ahead of Trenton and still hold a game in hand.
Wellington is home to the Toronto Junior Canadiens tomorrow (Fri.) night.
The Golden Hawks have 3 games left all at home including a date with the Dukes on February 21st. Friday Trenton entertains Whitby.
Minor Midget Red Devils blank Barrie
The Quinte Foley Bus Lines Red Devils blanked Barrie 4-0 to take a 4 points to 2 lead in their 6 point Minor Midget “AAA” playoff series.
