A well known builder of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, and a Campbellford native, has died.
Charlie Macoun passed away last Monday, just hours short of his 88th birthday
Macoun was part of the group that founded the Newmarket 87s, who turned into the Hurricanes, and now the Milton Menace.
The Trent Hills man was also the OHA Chairman of the Board of Governors, when it used to be branded the OHA Provincial Junior League, now the OJHL
His son, former Toronto Maple Leafs Jamie Macoun, played over 1,100 games in the NHL.
He will be laid to rest this week.
