It could get very messy this weekend.
Environment Canada has put in place a special weather statement for Belleville, Quinte West, Northumberland County, Cobourg and Colborne ahead of a low pressure system making its way to the region.
The storm is expected to bring rain, freezing rain, and snow with freezing rain, affecting most areas east of Lake Huron and eastern Ontario.
Significant ice build-up is possible.
The weather agency says there is still uncertainty as to which areas will be the most impacted by the storm and the Ontario Storm Prediction Centre will be closely monitoring the situation.
Warnings may be issued as the event draws nearer.
