A proposed new blueprint for the public education system will be presented to the Hastings Prince Edward School Board at its next meeting September 23.
The new Director of Education Sean Monteith has been asked to prepare a refreshed “entry plan” to guide the board and staff and he’s been hard at work developing a framework for the plan.
If he wasn’t driving the vast territory known as Hastings and Prince Edward counties he was talking face to face with teachers, students, parents, and support staff involved with his board’s education system.
“This is a perfect time to refocus the organization with myself just beginning in a senior leadership position. I hope my previous school board is going through the same process with its new director” said Monteith.
Monteith wouldn’t provide details but the proposed entry plan will include ideas for a restructuring of senior administration and other administration as well as a report on what roles he sees the Board of Trustees playing.
“The education system is changing all the time and we’ve got to remain nimble and able to adapt and this entry plan will address ways to do that.”
