Belleville native Abbott Girduckis has re-signed with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.
Girduckis played 7 games with Toledo last season following four seasons at the Rochester Institue of Technology where he was team captain. The 24 year old Girduckis scored 3 goals and 2 assists in those 7 games.
In 146 games with RIT he scored 30 goals with 63 assists.
Girduckis is a graduate of the Quinte Red Devils and the Wellington Dukes.
Daccache cashes in at Shannonville Motorsport Park

Newcastle racer Eli Daccache continued his dominance in the Pro Superbike ranks following another run-away victory in Round 4 of the RACE Superseries at Shannonville Motorsport Park.
Daccache is now in position to sweep the series which resumes next month at Shannonville.
Local racer Mike Raniowski pulled out a victory in the Pro 600 Sportbike class.
Howell in hunt in Nova Scotia
Phil Howlett, who plays out of the Bay of Quinte Golf and Country Club is in second place after round one of the Nova Scotia mens senior championship at Bell Bay Golf Club in Baddeck Nova Scotia.
Howlett opened with a 1 under par 71. He’s 4 shots behind the leader Mike Hebb.
Round 2 of the 54 hole event is today.
Howlett is in familiar territory in Nova Scotia. He is a former basketball forward with Dalhousie.
South Hastings Playoffs underway
The battle for the Thornton Portt trophy in the South Hastings Baseball League has begun.
Maclan Designs has taken a 2-0 lead in the best of 7 “A” semi final series with a 13-7 win over Uens Pole Line. Matt McGuire and Steve McFadden hit two run home runs to back the pitching of Matt Richardson.
Game 3 is Friday at 7pm.
The Parkhurst Tripps Pirates defeated Tal Trees 4-1 to even their best of 5 “B” semi final at 1. Owen Juby pitched a complete game for the win.
Game 3 is Sunday afternoon at 1.
