The Belleville General Hospital Foundation is on the receiving end of some local generosity.
The Belleville Kiwanis Club donated $21,480 to the foundation as part of an agreement to boost a historical endowment at the facility.
The endowment fund was established in 2002 as a sustainable solution to the hospital’s equipment needs.
Since the fund was established, the decision was made to top the fund up to $100,000 as part of a strategy to better serve the hospital.
Executive Director of the BGHF Steve Cook said it is fantastic to have this level of support from local Kiwanians and the group has been very active over the years. Another fundraiser is set for the new year called Kiwanis Weighs in for Kids.
The group hopes to raise a further $30,000 with Marj Buck and Lisa Solski leading a regional campaign where regional service groups will face off in a weight loss challenge fundraiser.
