Fire has heavily damaged a home and business at 377 Flying Club Road in Quinte West.
Firefighters from Quinte West station 5 (Batawa), station 7 (Batawa) and 4 (Tuckers Corners) were called out around 11:45 last night (Tuesday) to reports of a fire
in an attached garage that was spreading in to the house. A secondary building was also up in flames.
The Stirling-Rawdon Fire Department was called in to provide tanker support.
Someone who lived nearby noticed flames in the garage and made sure the man who lived there got out safely. The property is also home to Thrower Heating and Cooling.
Flames were under control by around 1 o’clock this morning. Firefighters remained on scene overnight.
About $400,000 damage was caused. The cause is under investigation.
