Members of the Emergency Control Group in Belleville met today to discuss flooding of the Bay of Quinte shores.
City officials met with Christine McClure from Quinte Conservation to help determine a proactive plan to mitigate the impact for residents, businesses and property owners.
Sections of South George Street and Harbour Drive have been closed and city representatives will continue to monitor conditions.
Crews are going to start elevating roads to enable residents to access their homes and concrete blocks are being put in place to contain water levels.
In the meantime, residents are asked to exercise extreme caution along the shoreline and take the necessary precautions to protect their property.
