What’s billed as the “largest ever school walkout in Canadian history” happens this afternoon (Thursday) across Ontario and here in the Quinte region.
A group known as “March for Our Education” has organized a walkout by secondary and elementary school students to protest the Ford government’s cuts to education funding.
The group expects some 200,000 students from over 700 secondary and elementary schools to take part.
The walkout is scheduled to begin at 1:15.
Tomorrow (Friday), there will be no classes for students as it is a scheduled PA (professional assistance) Day.
