Thanks to a $303,135 grant from the provincial government; Frankford, Batawa, Stockdale and Wooler will see transit options coming their way.
Quinte West council passed a by-law which will see the municipality, in partnership with Quinte Access, bring transit options to the northern part of the city five days a week.
The new route will link the four hamlets with Trenton Ward.
Mayor Jim Harrison says this is just the start of the transit improvements they’d like to make.
The funding was made available through the Province of Ontario’s Community Transportation Grant Program. The five year program is aimed at improving mobility options for individuals who don’t have access to their own transportation, building or enhancing capacity to better meet local, regional or intercommunity transportation demand and improving service delivery and service efficiency through collaboration.
