There are reports of a pill being found in a bag of Halloween candy given out last night in Belleville.
The story in the Intelligencer says a 14-year-old girl picked up a bag of jelly beans from a bucket on the porch of a house in the area of Hastings Drive, around 7:15 p.m. and her father found the peach-coloured pill in the bag Thursday morning.
City Police have been notified but a BPS spokesperson told the paper that no other similar reports had been received.
Parents are being advised to go through their children’s candy before they eat it and to report anything suspicious to police.
The investigation is ongoing and Quinte News has reached out to Belleville Police for further comment.
