Prince Edward County council will see a report by the end of this month regarding the Pinecrest Memorial Elementary School property.
Following an in camera session, council agreed to have staff bring a report to their July 24 meeting to discuss not only purchasing the land in Bloomfield, but entering a partnership with Emmanuel Baptist Church and Love Song to create seniors’ housing and a community hub.
Mayor Robert Quaiff says this helps toward their goal of creating more affordable housing.
Prince Edward County made a commitment of $250,000 for affordable housing in the 2018 budget.
