There was a strong display of neighbourly good will and community spirit in Belleville Friday to alleviate a possible traffic headache.
Winds knocked down a large tree on Fish and Game Club Road, around 2 p.m. and the tree trunk was blocking the road.
That’s when a number of residents and farmers jumped into action to stop cars and pulled out their chain saws to cut the trunk into pieces and get the road cleared.
Power lines in the area, near Sine Farm, run along the north side of the road so there was no damage.
There were no reported injuries as well.
