The Eastern Ontario Economic Leadership Council received a funding boost on Monday.
Minister Jeff Leal of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) was joined by members of the Leadership Council to announce a grant of $135,000.
The funds will refresh and help implement the Eastern Ontario Economic Development Strategy.
The three pillars of their work include workforce development and deployment, technology integration and innovation and integrated, intelligent transportation systems.
The EOLC consists of the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus, the Eastern Ontario Mayors’ Caucus, the Eatern Ontario Regional Network, the Ontario East Economic Development Commission and Community Futures Ontario East.
One major outcome is the creation of a comprehensive implementation plan, which will guide the EOLC’s work through 2024.
