The MPP for Northumberland Quinte West says it is good news for the area and good news for the environment.
Friday morning at Quinte West City Hall, Lou Rinaldi announced $42,000 for two different projects in Quinte West, one for the city, the other with Lower Trent Conservation.
Rinaldi says The Trenton Greenbelt Shoreline Habitat Enhancement will be receiving $17,053 and the municipality will be receiving $25,000 from the Great Lakes Guardian Community Fund.
Rinaldi says the announcement is good news for everyone.
Mayor Jim Harrison explains where the money for the city will be going.
Quinte West was one of just four municipalities in the province to be selected for the funding.
