Every community has a history, and in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday, Centre Hastings volunteers have put together an impressive, and large, display.
The Centre Hastings Historical Centre, located in downtown Madoc, has memorabilia and information dating back to before Confederation in 1867.

The Historical Centre features exhibits on local sports, religion, medical, education, agriculture, politics, and war history in several rooms on St. Lawrence Street in Madoc.

The Historical Centre will remain open at its current location for the time being, but Centre leader Tom Simpson says local MP Mike
Bossio has committed to helping find a permanent home for it. On a tour yesterday, MP Bossio said it would be a real shame if a home
for the incredible historical collection couldn’t be found.
So far this summer, over 700 people have visited the Centre Hastings Historical Centre and a Facebook page and website are under
construction.
