A special nursing program, to streamline the transfer of patients from ambulances to Belleville General Hospital staff, has received provincial funding.
The specially-funded nurse in emergency is designated to help with the off-load of patients to avoid any delay.
It means the paramedics do not have to wait in the hospital but can return to providing emergency coverage to the community faster.
The province has provided just over $232,000 for 2017-2018 year, providing the extra nursing service seven days a week, 12-hours a day.
