Some good news – most areas of Belleville’s flood zone will soon be open to general traffic.
More than three months after a number of streets in Foster Ward were flooded and closed to other than local traffic, they are being cleared to once more accommodate the general public.
Supervisor of Roads and Traffic Scott Whiteman says city crews are beginning the process of removing the temporary gravel roads in the area.

Harbourview in the boat dock area will still remain closed to general traffic.
He says it doesn’t look like the roadways were damaged by the flooding.
Whiteman says the boulevards will need some cleanup as well.
