A group of basketball players is returning to the region with a silver medal, following an invitational basketball tournament in the GTA this weekend.
The Canadian National Invitational Tournament featured U12 to U17 squads, including the Eastern Ontario Elite U15s.
They are made up of players from Kingston, Prince Edward County and the Belleville area.
The Elites won five straight games in the round robin, quarter finals and semis, to book their ticket to the finals, where they fell to EYB Uplay Canada from the GTA.
From the Quinte area were Jacob Wright, Aiden Callahan and Brandon Empey all from St. Theresa Secondary, Brodie Byford and Devon Wilton from Prince Edward County.
Aidan Callahan was named MVP in the semi final win over Mississauga.
Tom Callahan of Tyendinaga Township was on the coaching staff.
