A massive showing of financial support has come in for the family of the late Alex Sagriff.
The teen died in Cuba last week, while on a graduation trip with friends.
A GoFund me account was set up with the hopes of raising $5,000, however the generosity has gone much further than the goal.
At last check, close to 500 people or groups donated more than $40,000.
The account says the following, “Funds raised will support the family with any expenses incurred as a result of this tragedy that insurance does not cover. Following that, if funds remain, the family will explore other opportunities to support Alex’s community, either through bursaries, programs or services.”
Hundreds, if not thousands of messages of support have come in to support family and friends as well.
