The school board was alive with the sound of music Tuesday night.
During the HPEDSB meeting, North Hastings High School music teacher Dianne Winmill was honoured as the 2017 winner of the Music Counts Canadian Music Teacher of the Year Award.

Winmill was given the award by Jim Cuddy and Blue Rodeo at the 2017 Juno awards in Ottawa earlier this month.
She says it was a dream come true.

The 22 year teacher has also spent time at PECI in Picton, along with Quinte Secondary and Moira in Belleville.
