The federal government is stepping in to help out the small town of Tweed, by handing out some infrastructure cash.
MP Mike Bossio announced today a commitment of $118,250, to be used to make energy efficiency improvements at the Tweed-Hungerford Community Centre.
Tweed Mayor Jo-Anne Albert reacted positively to the news, saying the money will be used to replace aging ice compressors, which will save the town plenty of money on hydro bills moving forward.
The approved project is one of 350 to recieve federal cash from the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure program this year.
