It’s now official – it’s now called the United Way of Hastings and Prince Edward.
Officials and supporters gathered at the United Way headquarters in Belleville for an outside ceremony marking the official change of name from United Way of Quinte to the United Way of Hastings and Prince Edward.
Executive Director Judi Gilbert says the change of name “resonates in the surrounding communities.”
She says, for instance, the United Way supports several programs in the north.
Gilbert says there had often been a “misconception because the office is in Belleville.”
This year the United Way has set a fundraising goal of $2.1 million.
