Ghosts and Ghouls aplenty swarmed the streets of Consecon on Saturday.

As a dry run or warmup to Halloween on Monday, children from the town and surrounding areas got a chance to try out their costumes and get in the ‘spooky spirit’ during the annual
Haunting in the Hamlet event.

Event organizer Toby Toth said the aim of the event is simple.

She said there was a plethora of events for all ages of young people, starting with breakfast at the Consecon Legion, where spiderweb pancakes and sausages were followed by an arts and crafts sale at Consecon United Church Hall, and trick or treating at the Merchant’s Mill.
Inside the Masonic Hal,l carved pumpkins lined a table, ready to be judged, while parents and children filed in to participate in the costume contest.
