The injury to the Toronto Maple Leafs newest goaltender is going to be good news for a former Belleville Bull.
It’s been announced that Washington Capitals netminder, and former Bull, Philip Grubauer has been named to Team Europe for the upcoming World Cup of Hockey, and will replace Frederik Andersen, who was injured last week.
Grubauer becomes Team Europe’s third goaltender and will battle for playing time with Jaroslav Halak and Thomas Greiss.
The German-native man 48 regular season appearances for Belleville between 2008 and 2010 and also spent time with the Kingston Frontenacs and won a Memorial Cup with the Windsor Spitfires.
