The job outlook for people on social assistance has been getting better throughout this summer.
The Hastings-Quinte social services Employment Connection program filled 157 jobs in July.
This is 35 more than in the previous month, and the average wage of $12.65 an hour was up slightly as well.
Forty-percent of the jobs were the retail-customer service sector, 38% in general labour, and 11% in manufacturing.
Officials say that in the past nine years Employment Connections has filled 17,837 positions.
