Belleville’s newest fire station will officially open on Saturday morning and the public is invited.
The new station is located on Old highway 2 at Mitchell Road.
The new four-bay fire hall is replacing the 100 year-old Pointe Anne fire hall in the city’s east end.
Deputy Fire Chief Bruce Greatrix says it is very well situated since Mitchell Road runs north to the centre of the municipality.
2 FIRE STN OPEN
The 21 volunteer firefighters, with equipment, have already moved from Pointe Anne to the new location.
Deputy Greatrix says the Saturday event gets under way at 11 a.m. and firefighters will be cooking up some hotdogs and hamburgers for the public.
