The YMCA of Quinte has officially kicked off its annual Strong Kids Campaign, which provides financial support to families, so they can enroll their kids in Y programs.
After a successful campaign last year, raising $140,000, organizers are hoping to tack-on another $10,000 this year, for a total of $150,000.
Single mom of two Janice Quade spoke to Quinte News and is urging people to make donations, because many kids wouldn’t get a chance to take part, without the financial help.
Quade adds that without the YMCA and its programs, she’d be lost.
The chair of the Strong Kids Campaign this year is local realtor Jamie Troke.
If you’d like to donate, just drop by your nearest YMCA.
